Ingredients
Cream cheese frosting:
Materials
- 1 food processor (or electric blender)
- 1 spatula (or spoon)
- 1 silicone bundt cake mould (a standard mould can be used)
Preparation
- Beat eggs and sugar for 5 minutes at maximum speed until the mixture doubles in volume.
- Add the cream and mix well. Then gradually incorporate the flour and baking powder.
- Then add the melted butter and chocolate. Mix well until the mixture is smooth.
- Grease the cake mould with butter or vegetable oil. Pour in the dough.
- Preheat the oven at 340°F (170°C) and bake for 45 minutes. Check that the bundt cake is cooked with the help of a toothpick. Gently insert it into the cake: if the dough remains on the toothpick, then you will need to continue baking for a few minutes.
- Leave to cool down before unmoulding.
Cut the cake dome so that the underside is then flat.
- For the cream cheese frosting :
Combine the cream cheese, icing sugar and hot water. Add food dye according to the colour you want to give. - Frost the cake and then add the little sugar eyes so that it can look at you evilly while you devour it. And there you have it. Your monster or Halloween doughnut is ready!
Observations
Can I store the Halloween doughnut?
Yes. You can store it with a bell cover for a couple of days outside the refrigerator.
Can I freeze the Halloween doughnut?
Of course, but we suggest not to frost it. Prepare the glaze at the last moment.
What mould for the Halloween doughnut?
We used a silicone mould, but this is optional. You can use any cake mould you have. Remember to grease it well if it is not made of silicone.
Can I replace dark chocolate in the Halloween doughnut?
You can use any type of chocolate for this cake. If you use a very sugary type of chocolate, we recommend that you reduce the amount of sugar in both the cake and the icing.
