Sprouts chaat : a healthy tangy snack

A healthy, diabetes friendly recipe full of proteins, carbs, vitamins and fiber.


Number of serving: 2
1 cup Bean sprouts

1 Green Chile (finely chopped)

1/2 Tsp Cumin

1/4 Tsp Asafoetida

1 Tsp Ground Cumin

Red chile powder (to taste)

Lemon 1 (juiced)

1/2 Tsp Kala namak (Himalayan black salt)

1 Onion (finely chopped)

2 Tbsp Coriander (chopped finely)

1/2 Tsp Oil


  • N a non stick pan heat oil and add asafoetida and cumin seeds followed by chopped and deseeded green chilles. As soon as the cumin sputters, add bean sprouts and salt. Cover and cook the sprouts for about 5-7 minutes. Cook till the sprouts get completely steamed but still retain some crunch.
  • Remove from pan and mix Cumin powder, red chile powder, kala namak and lemon juice.
  • Garnish with onions and coriander and serve as a snack.
