Annie's Quest for Local Eats - Restaurant Reviews

By Our Happy Medium (Visit website)

So I was feeling hungry and quite stressed while studying for my finals this past week. Needing time to unwind and get out of my house, I decided to venture for some lunch! Not sure what I was craving for, I decided to drive to West Jordan and check out what was available at Jordan Landing. It was until I pulled into the Michael's and Sport's Chalet Centre that I had remembered seeing Sakana Sushi & Japanese Cuisine http://www.sakanasushibar.com/index.html

I am a HUGE fan of sushi and after having Takashi last month, I was in sushi heaven and craving it once more. Except...I do not like the drive downtown and their steep prices. Although there are several spots in this side of Bangeter, not many of them have been promising. But I was happy to give Sakana a try and Sakana was quite a pleasant surprise! The sushi was extremely fresh, wonderful in texture and amazing pow wow sauces! To my delight, I went during lunch where they had several of their popular rolls for $7.99 each. After several recommendations from my server, I decided to try the Marz & Awesome Rolls as seen in the picture above. These where quite tasty and I was extremely pleased, so much that I am rating these a true runner ups compared to Takashi's rolls. In addition to the rolls, the service was really good, the decor is simple and colorful with natural elements. Although a little chilly, but overall I did not care as my lunch was really good. Although lunch specials are really good, prices are very similar to Takashi even with having two lunch specials; I did order an additional two rolls to go which included a Jordan Roll and Cali Roll. I had an Ice Tea, a total of 4 rolls which put me a total price tag $45.56 before my tip. They are opened seven days a week which is a plus! Overall, I really liked Sakana and look forward to trying additional rolls and next time I will take my family! :)

Happy Eats!
