Chinese Style Stir Fry Venison

By Elinluv's Tidbits Corner (Visit website)

It is not everyday that I get to cook venison at home . I was lucky enough to get some deer meat from the Government Agro farm @ RM30/kg.   Most of the time ,we will order this dish from the restaurant when we eat out.  So this is my first time cooking this dish at home. Stir fry venison chinese style with lots of ginger slices and black pepper and chinese cooking wine.  Hmmm ...it may not taste as good as those served in restaurants but for the Piggies this will suffice for the time being until this Momsie mastered the art of cooking venison  :))  Meanwhile the photos are for drooling ......  ^*

Chinese Style Stir Fry Venison

Ingredients:-

500 gm deer meat - cut across grain into thin fillets ( tenderize it if needed )

1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp of cornstarch

3 pips of garlic - chopped
thumb size ginger - cut into slices
1 carrot - cut into slices

1 tsp of sesame oil
1/2  tbsp of ground black pepper
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
3 tbsp of grapeseed oil
2 tbsp of chinese cooking wine
1/4 cup of boiling water
2 stalks of spring onions - cut into 1 " length

thickening:
1 tbsp of cornstarch
3 tbsp of water

Method:-

Cut venison against the grain into thin fillets. Marinade meat with 1 tbsp light soy sauce and cornstarch. Rest it for 1 hour .

Heat grapeseed oil in a wok and saute the chopped garlic , ginger slices and carrot slices until fragrant. Add in venison fillets and saute until brown; add in ground black pepper and sesame oil to meat while it's browning.  Add 1/4 cup boiling water. Let simmer for 20 minutes under medium low heat or until meat is cooked through and tender. Add in thickening and spring onions. Dish up and serve warm.
