But today we would like to stay with one of the most comforting recipes on the planet: the French Tartiflette. Originally from Savoy, this gratin of potato, reblonchon cheese, onion, bacon, pepper and white wine is a hearty dish, with balanced flavors and really delicious that feels especially good when the cold winter days arrive. This tuber, which was introduced in Spain around 1570, when the Spanish conquistadors were returning from the Americas, has real importance in Spanish gastronomy. Patatas a la Riojana, papas arrugás (so emblematic of the islands), patatas bravas... but if we had to choose just one dish, it would be without hesitation the tortilla de patatas, also known as tortilla española (Spanish omelette) . With paella's permission, it is the most popular recipe outside our borders.

Leaving aside its popular Fish and Chips (fish and chips ), we are going to opt for the Shepherd's pie, also known as Cottage Pie. An infallible dish for a Sunday lunch.
