Lately, a little Argentine snack has been making the headlines: Franui. These little sweets are fresh raspberries coated in chocolate, offering a unique blend of freshness and indulgence. Originating in Argentina, they have quickly won over the hearts of chocolate and fruit lovers, and their popularity is beginning to spread beyond our borders ;-) Focus on this new food trend!

What exactly is Franui?

Franui is the perfect combination of the sweetness of raspberries and the crunch of a chocolate shell. What sets them apart is the double coating: first white chocolate, then milk or dark chocolate for a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. The contrast between the crunch of the chocolate and the glazed raspberry inside is what makes them so special!

A simple but addictive concept

Franui's popularity has exploded thanks to social media and the brand's clever marketing. The elegant packaging and the promise of a sweet treat to be enjoyed at any time have made them a popular snack not only in Argentina, but internationally too. They can be enjoyed fresh, or even slightly frozen, making them an ideal option for summer or for an icy treat! :-)

Our in-house alternative:

Not yet available everywhere? Don't panic! You can recreate this little marvel at home, and we'll explain everything:

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz raspberries
  • 3.5 oz white chocolate
  • 3.5 oz milk chocolate

Recipe steps :

  • Melt the white chocolate in the microwave for about a minute (stirring after 30 seconds), or in a bain-marie.
  • Using a wooden pick, dip the raspberries one by one into the white chocolate.
  • Place the raspberries on parchment paper and set aside in the freezer for ten minutes to allow the white chocolate to set.
  • Meanwhile, melt the milk chocolate in the microwave or bain-marie.
  • Remove the raspberries from the freezer and dip them in the milk chocolate until they are well coated.
  • Place them on parchment paper and return to the freezer for another ten minutes or so (it doesn't matter if the chocolate runs, you can remove the excess once it has set in the fridge).
  • And now all you have to do is enjoy these homemade "Franui"! It's hard to eat just one ;-)
