Ingredients

Number of serving: 3
150g cekur manis/sweet leaf - - pluck out the leaves from the stems.

3 tbsp anchovies/ikan bilis - soaked in water for 10 mins, drain away the water and snip into smaller pieces

To pound/grind/blend

5 shallots

5 red chillies

4 birds eye/chilly chillies (optional)

1/2 inch garlic

1/2 inch roasted belacan(roasted block shrimp paste)

Other ingredients

2 calamansi lime - extract juice

1 1/2 cup fresh (carton) milk

1/2 cup water

4 tbsp olive oil

salt to taste

Preparation

  • When oil is heated, fry the blended ingredients with the anchovies/ikan bilis.
    Once the oil starts to float, add in the fresh milk, kalamansi juice, water, cekur manis and salt to taste.
    Reduce the heat to cook the ingredients
    As soon as the small bubble forms, remove from heat.
