Very Easy


- Dried king fish - 1 cup
- Finely chopped onions - 1 1/2 big
- Finely chopped Garlic - 8 pods
- Red Chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
- Turmeric Powder - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves - few

For Seasoning:
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Wash the dried fish nicely in warm water, rub it nicely several times then only salt from the fish get rid off and chop into tiny bits.

Step 2

Heat oil in the heavy bottom kadai or non-stick pan, season the fennel seeds.

Step 3

Add the Curry leaves ,Chopped Garlic and chopped onions to fry. Saute it well till it turns translucent then add the salt and red chilli powder.

Step 4

Now add the cleaned dried king fish , salt and stir it well with the onions.

Step 5

Add little bit (2 tablespoons ) of hot water and cook in the medium flame, fry it gently till the water evaporates.

Step 6

The cooked gravy should be in thick texture.Now the dried king fish thokku is ready to serve
