- Wash the dried fish nicely in warm water, rub it nicely several times then only salt from the fish get rid off and chop into tiny bits.
- Heat oil in the heavy bottom kadai or non-stick pan, season the fennel seeds.
- Add the Curry leaves ,Chopped Garlic and chopped onions to fry. Saute it well till it turns translucent then add the salt and red chilli powder.
- Now add the cleaned dried king fish , salt and stir it well with the onions.
- Add little bit (2 tablespoons ) of hot water and cook in the medium flame, fry it gently till the water evaporates.
- The cooked gravy should be in thick texture.Now the dried king fish thokku is ready to serve
