How to cook pasta?

What's better than a pasta dish? Basic recipe of Italian cuisine.
Cooking your pasta is not always an easy task: the cooking time, the addition of olive oil or butter, what volume of water for what volume of pasta?
Pasta, a large volume of salted water, the recipe is very easy.
Today we are going to take long pasta (spaghetti), but the quantities will be exactly the same for short pasta, only the cooking time will vary.

Preparation

  • Start by boiling your water over high heat in a large saucepan.
  • When the water boils, add salt.
  • Immerse your pasta in boiling water, stir with a spatula and count between 8 (al dente) to 10 minutes (cooked) when boiling resumes.
  • All you have to do is drain your pasta and it's ready!

How much to expect?
It takes 3.5 oz (100 gr) of pasta per person. It is very easy to make large quantities. You just need a very large saucepan.

Can you substitute salt in boiling water?
You can add vegetable broth or flavorings if you wish.

How to know the cooking time of pasta?
Depending on the pasta, it is advisable to look at the cooking time recommended on the package. It is more or less 10 minutes in general.

What is the best cooking time for pasta with sauce?
If you want to incorporate your pasta into a sauce, it is best to cook al dente, the pasta will finish cooking in the sauce, and you will thus avoid overcooking.

How much salt should I add?
For cooking dry pasta, the rule is simple, it's 1/2 Tbsp (10 grams) for 4 cups (1 liter) of water!
