English Scones for St George's Day

By Cooking at Marystow (Visit website)

Happy St. George's Day everyone. The sun is shining, the sky is blue. I have seen so many flags flying whilst I was out. The beer gardens are filling up with people this afternoon enjoying a cold pint in the sun. To me the most traditional English treat is scones, jam and cream washed down with a lovely cup of tea. Apologies to all those in Cornwall who will be outraged that I have not used clotted cream for this :) but I am afraid I could not get any this morning, so normal cream had to do, but clotted cream would have been my preference. This is a lovely recipe which produces perfect light, sweet scones. Enjoy the day and the beautiful sunny weekend ahead (if you're in the UK). Back soon, Lucie x
