Fancy a delicious dish without spending hours in the kitchen? Our Juliette-inspired "lazy" recipe is for you! Ready in a flash, it's super-easy to prepare thanks to a few simple tricks: cut the vegetables while the meat is cooking, and toss the noodles while the filling finishes cooking in the pan. And what's more, it's an ultra-modulable recipe: replace the pasta with sautéed rice, the vegetables with your favorites... Let's be creative! We explain it all in our detailed recipe right here ↓↓ And we'll give you plenty of alternatives in the observations ;-)

Garnish:
Materials
For cutting vegetables:
- 1 cutting board
- 1 knife
To cook the filling:
- 1 frying pan
- 1 spatula
To cook the noodles:
- 1 kettle (or saucepan)
- 1 airtight container (or bowl + plate)
To eat the noodles:
- chopsticks (or a fork if you prefer...)
- soup plate (or large bowl)
Preparation
- Topping:
Drizzle sesame oil into a hot pan. Place the ground steak in the pan and allow to brown. - Meanwhile, chop the green onion and set aside.
- Chop the mushrooms.
- Prepare the sauce: combine sesame seeds, soy sauce, mirin (or cooking sake), honey (or brown sugar), crushed garlic clove and gochujang (or sriracha).
- Turn steak over when golden brown.
Boil the water for the noodles. - Add the onions (if you like them well cooked, add them after turning the steak, otherwise add them a little later), crumble the meat with a spatula and stir.
- Place noodles in a large bowl or airtight container. Pour the seasoning sachet over the noodles. Then pour in the water until all the noodles are covered, and cover for 3 minutes (or more, depending on the noodle pack; follow package directions).
- While the noodles are cooking, add the mushrooms and stir the filling regularly.
- Drain the noodles and add them to the pan. Add the sauce and stir for a few minutes to combine the ingredients.
- Serve in a bowl or soup plate, sprinkled with green onions (or chives) and sesame seeds. And it's ready!
Observations
What can I use instead of ground beef?
Here I've used ground beef, which is convenient because it comes in portions. You can also use ground beef.
In testing this recipe, I also used shrimps, marinated tofu, ground pork, chicken, omelette and a fried egg (added at the end).
As you can see, you can use your favorite protein :-)
What to replace the mushrooms with?
Here I've used brown Shimeji mushrooms. You can simply leave them out, or use other types of mushrooms such as shitakés or even button mushrooms. You can also use seasonal vegetables - I'm sure you'll find the best combination with the protein you've chosen!
Which noodles to use?
Here, I've used the classic instant noodles available in bags. You can use other types of noodle, such as soba or rice noodles :-). The filling will also work well with rice.
What to do with the broth?
You can keep it to prepare other recipes, or use it in this one. Here, the noodles are sautéed, but I often keep the broth, replace the meat with gyoza and a soft-boiled egg, and end up with a noodle soup garnished with mushrooms or other vegetables.
How do I prepare instant noodles?
You'll find noodles and one or more seasoning sachets in your packet. Often you'll find one with bouillon powder, one with oil or garlic oil, and one with chili pepper. You can dose them according to your taste! Some also contain dehydrated vegetables.
The packet will tell you whether to use an airtight tin (or covered bowl) or a saucepan. Most noodles cook in boiling water for 3 minutes, but some take longer, so be sure to check.
In the case of some packets, you'll need to add the seasoning afterwards. This will also be indicated. For this recipe, we recommend using noodles with a stock packet, not a seasoning sachet, as there is already a sauce.
