Open Masala Dosa is very tasty dosa recipe where the way we serve the dosa is slightly different from that of masala dosa. We sprinkle the spicy powder mix and vegetables on top of dosa and do not fold the dosa.

Ingredients

Number of serving: 6
Rice - 2 cup

Urad dal - 1 cup


Chat Masala - 1/2 tsp

Kitchen King Masala - 1/2 tsp

Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp

Carrot grated - 1

Cabbage Shredded - 1 cup

Onion chopped - 1

Capsicum chopped - 1/2

Coriander leaves chopped - 5 strands

Vegetable Oil/Melted Butter - for cooking dosa

Salt to taste

Grated coconut - 1/4 cup (optional)

Potato Masala/Baji

Preparation

  • For the batter
    Wash and Soak rice and urad dal for 4-5 hours.
    Grind them adding little water.make sure that the batter is of medium thick consistency.Allow it to ferment overnight.
    Next morning add salt to batter and mix well.
    Open Masala Dosa
    In small bowl mix the red chilli powder, chat masala, garam masala, kitchen king masala and keep it aside.
    Heat Oil in pan. Take laddle full of batter and spread to form round, medium thick dosa. drizzle the oil to the edges. when the dosa is half way cooked sprinkle the powder on top of dosa and place Potato Masala/Baji on center of dosa.
    Once its cooked and crispy, carefully remove it and transfer to plate. Spread the onion, capsicum, carrot, cabbage, coriander leaves, coconut grated and the mixed powder again on top only if you want it spicy. Repeat the process for the remaining dosa.
    Open Masala Dosa is now ready. Serve hot and enjoy.
