Ingredients

Number of serving: 4
Nethili karuvadu Anchovy / sec (cleaned and washed) 250 g

Red Chilly Powder 2 tablespoons

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

Tamarind paste 1 tablespoon

Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Make a smooth paste of fresh red powder, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, salt and little water.
  • Add this paste to dry anchovies.
  • Mix well and marinate for atleast 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat a wok, add 3-4 tablespoons of oil.
  • When hot, add the marinated anchovies and fry until crispy golden brown.
  • Serve with cooked rice to steam, Rasam and Sambar.
