Benny?s at Rustan?s Supermarket Makati
Mom and I went Christmas shopping around Makati for toys and my ingredients. Earlier that day, we passed by this place called Benny?s both intrigued by the so many customers they have. Considering the big space they had all the tables were occupied, we wanted to try out the place. We were both tired and drained from walking so we just decided to try it out. It was located just outside Rustan?s Supermarket in Makati. It was already 2:30 in the afternoon, so we easily got a table and ordered. I let mom choose all the dishes, and so she did. We started with the Daing na Bangus (Php215) served with a choice of salted egg with tomatoes or scrambled eggs, and plain or garlic rice. It was a bit bland but their vinegar was good -- this meant something for me to say because I dislike vinegars, any kind. Daing na BangusThen we also had a classic favorite of Mom, Bistek Tagalog (Php189). I liked this. The beef had the right bite, not too soft nor too tough plus the marinade was good. We paired this with an order of Plain Rice (Php35), I liked the touch of using banana leaves to wrap the rice. Bistek TagalogSince we weren?t contented yet, we also got the Ginataan ng Puso ng Saging. Puso ng SagingBefore leaving, we made a take-out order for dad, Bibingka (Php95). It was kind of expensive for the size but I didn?t hear any complaint. I?m guessing it was good. They also have Fresh Pasta which looked interesting, can?t wait to try it next time!
