This matcha marble cake is the perfect dessert for a unique and sophisticated treat. Moist, melt-in-your-mouth, and beautifully marbled, it combines the sweetness of vanilla with the earthy and slightly bitter notes of matcha. An easy recipe for homemade cake that’s convenient to take anywhere and perfect for afternoon snack, dessert, or to enjoy with a cup of tea!

Heat the milk and pour it over the matcha in a bowl. Mix well using a chasen (Japanese bamboo whisk), a hand whisk, or an electric mixer.
Mix the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is creamy.
Add the eggs and mix well, then add the mascarpone and vanilla extract and mix.
Next, add the flour, yeast, and salt (you can mix these together separately beforehand if you prefer), along with the milk, and gently stir them into the dough until the mixture is smooth.
Pour half of the batter into another mixing bowl and add the matcha and milk mixture. Mix well until you have a nice green batter.
Scoop out a tablespoon of vanilla batter and spoon it into a greased loaf pan. Add additional spoonfuls of vanilla batter randomly throughout the pan.
Add spoonfuls of matcha batter to the remaining spaces.
Gradually and randomly add the remaining vanilla batter and the remaining matcha batter to the pan.
Using a pastry brush or a knife, make waves in the dough to create the marbling pattern.
Bake the cake in an oven preheated to 170°C (conventional oven) for 50 minutes.
Remove the marble cake from the oven and let it cool before turning it out of the pan and enjoying it—it's ready!
