Gingerbread men cookies

Ingredients

For the cookies :

• 2 cups flour
• 2/3 cup butter
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ginger

For decoration :

• Icing (homemade or store-bought)
• Colored chocolate candies (Smarties type)

Preparation

• To begin, combine butter and sugar.
  Add egg.
  Add flour, salt, cinnamon and ginger.
• Place the dough on cling film.
  Form into a ball, then wrap in cling film.
  Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  
• Flour the table.
  Roll out the dough to about 1cm thick.
• Cut out figures using the cookie cutter.
  
• Place the gingerbread men on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  Bake for 7-10 minutes at 390°F/200°C.
• Now it's time to decorate! Use icing and candy to make the decoration of your choice.
