Preparation
Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes. Cook them for 10 minutes in boiling water.
Grease the gratin dish with butter, and arrange the potatoes in the bottom. Cut the fish into large pieces and place them on top of the potatoes. Finally, add the cleaned and sliced mushrooms on top of the fish.
Prepare the béchamel: melt the butter in a saucepan, and add the flour all at once. Whisk together.
Gradually add the milk while whisking. The béchamel should thicken. Add salt, pepper, and ground nutmeg.
Pour the béchamel sauce over the ingredients in the gratin dish. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
