Observations

How to pan-fry mackerel?
The best way is to sear them for a few minutes on each side in a hot pan. The cooking time is fairly short, but will depend on the thickness of the pieces.

When should I remove the bones?
You can remove them before or after cooking. Here, we removed them before cooking. To do this, we removed the part containing the bones from the side and the central part of the fillet. Make sure you haven't missed any before moving on to the marinade!
After cooking, they'll be easier to remove - just follow the steps outlined above.

What to serve with mackerel?
You can serve it with sautéed zucchini, rice (in this case, sushi rice) or even potatoes.

How do I store cooked mackerel?
Place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day.
