Spicy-sweet-sour and aromatic sauce/dip.


Number of serving: 4

For fish :

4 preboiled ikan kembung/mackerel (rinse with water and pat dry)

For Assam sauce :

2 tbsp assam/tamarind (add some water and squeeze out the juice)

1 inch ginger (chopped)

1 medium size onion (chopped)

4 chili padi (chopped)

3 kaffir lime/limau purut leaves (shredded)

A pinch of salt.

1 tsp sugar


  • For fish
    Deep fry and remove from oil.
  • For sauce :
    Combine all these ingredients and stir to dissolve salt and sugar.
