- Preheat the oven to 180 C. Lightly grease the baking pan and line the base with non-stick baking paper.
- Pour hot coffee over chopped dates and walnuts and allow to cool.
- Cream butter and sugar, add egs and beat well. Sift in dry ingredients.
- Lastly, mix in date and nut mixture and vanilla extract.
- Pour into prepared cake tin and bake for 50-60 minutes. Dust with icing sugar.
- Serve warm with vanilla icecream.
