Let's make the french version of Yakitori Skewers : with beef and cheese !

  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 1Chop the green onion (only the green part).

    Combine the corn starch with some water (about a tablespoon).
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 2Pour the soy sauce, the water, the brown sugar and the rice vinegar in a pot. Add the green onion and the crushed garlic clove. Let it caramelize for about 3 to 5 minutes on high heat, stiring constantly.
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 3Add the corn starch and water mix and combine to thicken the sauce and sieve the sauce.
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 4Combine the carpaccio with the sauce (you can keep some sauce for later to pour on top of your skewers). Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 5Cut the emmental cheese into 8 rectangular slices and thread the cheese onto the skewers.
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 6Roll the carpaccio around the cheese.
  • Yakitori skewers - beef and cheese - Preparation step 7Cook the skewers in a hot pan with oil 1 min per face. You can add some extra sauce on top.
