Preparation
- Peel the onion and wash the tomato. Cut the onion, tomato, and pickles into small, even squares. Set aside. Drain the oil from the sardines, mash them, and set aside.
- In a bowl, add: mayonnaise + drops of lemon + oil. Mix lightly with the help of a whisk or a fork until the ingredients are well integrated and emulsified.
- Add to the previous mixture: the sardines, onion, tomato, and pickles, and stir with a fork.
- Next, season with a few drops of Worcestershire sauce, salt to taste, and stir to combine the flavors.
- Plating: place a ring on the plate where you will serve your pâté. Fill it with our pâté and press the mixture slightly before gently removing the ring. Another option is to serve it in individual portions on toasts.
- And it's ready!
Observations
If you prefer, you can substitute the sardines for canned mackerel, smoked sardines...
What should I do if I don't have a plating ring?
A very handy option is to cut a piece of plastic bottle to the size we want and wash it well. If you prefer a square mold, you can simply cut a milk carton or similar.
