1.5 cups bread flour

0.5 cup wholemeal flour

0.5 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

3 tablespoon orange juice

1 teaspoon orange rind

0.5 cup pear, shredded

1 egg

0.25 cup butter / margarine

0.5 cup chopped macadamia nuts & rocky road chocolate


  • Preheat oven to 180 deg Celcius. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat with an electric mixer all the ingredients except the macadamia nuts and rocky road, at medium speed for about 3 minutes.
  • The batter should be lumpy and not watery. Adjust the flour accordingly.
  • Fold in the nuts and chocolate and pour the batter into pan.
  • Bake 50 – 60 minutes or until skewer comes out clean when inserted into the centre of the bread.
  • Cool 10 minutes and serve.
