Vanilla whipped cream :
Materials
- 1 muffin tin
- Piping bag
- Star tip
- 1 saucepan
- 1 wooden spatula
Preparation
- Pour the water into the saucepan over medium heat. Add sugars and butter. Boil everything. The butter should melt completely.
- Remove the pan from the heat and add the flour all at once. Mix well with a wooden spatula and return to the heat. Mix until the dough pulls away from the edges.
- Remove from the heat, add the vanilla then the eggs gradually while mixing. Transfer the still warm dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Turn the muffin tin upside down and grease its surface. Pipe the bowls on the mold forming a continuous spiral. Press the parts that did not stick together and the top of the bowl. Grease the churro bowls.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
- Remove from the oven and immediately roll in sugar (or a sugar + cinnamon mixture).
- Garnish with ice cream and caramel, or with the filling of your choice!
- You can also garnish your bowls with chocolate ganache and whipped cream.

We decorated our stuffed bowls with chopped hazelnuts.
Observations
How to make churros in the oven?
All you have to do is make a choux pastry, poach everything on a greased baking sheet and bake them in an oven at 400°F (200°C).
Why does choux pastry and churros have to be lukewarm to poach?
If you wait too long, your dough will cool and harden and it will be much more difficult to pipe. So don't wait!
Can you freeze churros?
Good news: you can freeze churros and enjoy them longer! You can then prepare them in large quantities and always have some on hand ;-)

How to make homemade chocolate ganache?
In Spain, churros are generally eaten with a chocolate ganache, the recipe is very easy to make, we give it to you right here:
To make a homemade chocolate ganache, all you have to do is heat the cream and when it is very hot, add the chocolate of your choice, in the same quantity as the cream, cut into small pieces. Mix well and you will get a perfect ganache. If you want to solidify it once in your churros bowls, put the filled bowls in the fridge.
How to make homemade whipped cream?
You can prepare whipped cream simply by whipping cream and sugar. We decided to make an extra gourmet whipped cream: to reproduce it at home you will have to whip cold cream and mascarpone in the same quantities with icing sugar (to taste) and vanilla extract (or a pod of vanilla). You can vary the flavors by flavoring your cream with coffee extract or orange blossom.
We recommend that you put the cream in the freezer 15 minutes before using it and choose a cream with at least 30% fat: follow these two tips and you will never miss your whipped cream!
