Prepare all the ingredients.
In a mixing bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and lime zest until a paste forms.
Add the lime juice and salt.
Add the flour and mix gently until you have a smooth batter.
Shape the dough into a log and wrap it in plastic wrap. Without unwrapping it, gently spread it out on the work surface to even out its thickness and trim the ends. Place it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, or until it is firm enough to be cut.
Remove the plastic wrap and cut it into rounds about 5 to 7 mm thick.
Arrange the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each one.
Bake in an oven preheated to 350 °F/180 °C for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges begin to brown slightly. Remove them from the oven and let the cookies cool completely.
Icing: Mix the powdered sugar with the lime juice. If necessary, gradually add a little more juice until you have a thick icing that’s easy to spread.
Using a spoon, place a small amount of frosting on each cooled cookie and spread it out.
Finish by adding the lime zest.
