Here's an idea that's as simple as it is magical: a melty brownie transformed into a snow-covered pinecone, thanks to a few well-placed cereals and a veil of powdered sugar. This Christmas dessert, which can be made with or without children, creates a wow effect without spending hours on it. The result? An edible centerpiece or a super gourmet dessert plate... To munch on around the Christmas tree, with a hot chocolate ;)

Prepare the brownie batter:
Mix the eggs and sugar until the mixture is white.
Add the flour and mix well. Then add the melted butter and chocolate and mix well to obtain a smooth, homogenous, glossy batter.
Pour the batter into a greased baking tin and bake for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 350°F/180°C.
Cool before unmolding. Break into several pieces and mix with the spread.
Form a cone with your hands. You can wear gloves if you prefer.
Plant the cereals all around the brownie cone, pointing upwards. You can put in more or less, or space them out. The result will vary. Cover the entire cone.
And it's ready, just place the pine cones on one or more serving dishes and decorate before serving with a shower of powdered sugar :-)
FAQ ❓
How important is it to let the brownies cool before unmolding them?
Allowing the brownies to cool allows the texture to stabilize, making them easier to unmold.
Can I use other types of cereal for decoration?
You can, but you won't get the same effect. Chocapic or non-label chocolate petal-shaped cereals are perfect for this recipe!
Can I use any type of chocolate cake?
To make this recipe, we recommend a brownie or chocolate fondant. It needs to be able to be crushed and reshaped afterwards, so the batter should be slightly sticky. You can use a ready-made industrial cake if you want to save time, or if you already have some at home. You can also use leftover cake so as not to waste it :-).
Depending on the cake you choose, add more or less spread, which acts as a binder. The wetter the cake, the less spread you'll need.
