Heat oil in pan, add the chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, saute till it turns brown.
Add onion and saute till it turns soft. Now add the chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes, chicken pieces, salt and little water and let it boil for sometime. Simmer and cook it the chicken becomes tender and completely cooked.
Saute at regular interval till all the water evaporates and the gravy appears thick. Serve hot.
