First, let's prepare the meatball mixture: put the meat, eggs, Parmesan cheese, bread, pepper, parsley, and salt in a bowl.
Mix with your hands until all ingredients are well combined
Shape the mixture into balls of your preferred size, then fry the meatballs in hot olive oil until golden brown (about 5–6 minutes). Once cooked, let them drain on paper towels.
Meanwhile, prepare the sauce:
Fry the chopped onion in a saucepan with a little olive oil, add the tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes.
Now add the meatballs to the tomato sauce and continue cooking, covered, for at least 15 minutes (stir occasionally with a wooden spoon).
The meatballs with tomato sauce are ready. Plate them and serve with a few basil leaves.
