First, let's prepare the dough for the meatballs: put the meat, eggs, Parmesan cheese, bread, pepper, parsley and salt in the bowl.
Mix with your hands until all ingredients are well combined
Create balls of the size you prefer, then fry the meatballs in hot olive oil until golden brown (about 5/6 minutes). Once ready let them drain on paper towels.
Meanwhile, prepare the sauce:
Fry the chopped onion in a saucepan with a little olive oil, add the tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes.
Now add the meatballs into the tomato sauce and continue cooking for at least 15 minutes with the lid on (stir occasionally with a wooden spoon).
Meatballs with sauce are ready, plate them and serve with a few basil leaves.
