Spicy pomfret fish curry

Ingredients

• Fish - 500 gms
• Lemon juice - 2 tbsps
• Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
• Red chillies - 4
• Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Green chillies - 2
• Coriander powder - 1 tsp
• Ginger- garlic paste - 1 tsp
• Mustard - 1 tsp
• Bay leaf - 1
• Onion - 2 nos
• Mustard - 1 tsp
• Kus kus - 1/2 tsp
• Cloves - 2
• Cinnamon sticks - 2

Preparation

• Marinate fish with limejuice, turmeric powder and salt for 1 hour.
• Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish . Don't over fry , keep them aside .
• Meanwhile , heat oil in a kadai . Once hot , add mustard , curry leaves , jeera , red chillies , green chillies and bay leaf and saute for 2 minutes .
• Then add chopped onion and saute till tender .Mix in ginger-garlic paste . Then add all the powders , grinded powder and salt . Mix them well and add a cup of water .
• When it starts boiling , add the fish to it and cook with a lid . Cook till the oil leaves.
