800 g of lean beef slices such as rump or sirloin

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/4-1/2 teaspoon chilli powder

1 tablespoon sherry

2 tablespoons oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 teaspoons corn flour


  • Marinade the beef in a mixture of the rest of the ingredients and marinade for at least an hour.
  • Pan fry in a little bit of oil until browned and cooked through.
  • Serve with a dip of garlic and vinegar or accompanied with chopped tomatoes or papaya pickles.
