Dudhi chana nu shaak (bottle gourd bengal gram dal curry)

Ingredients

• 1 cup chopped dudhi (bottle gourd)
• 2 cup chana dal (bengal gram dal)
• 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
• 1/2 cumin seeds
• 1 tsp garlic paste
• 1 tsp red chili powder
• 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
• 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
• 2 Kokum or 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
• Pinch of asafoetida
• 2 tbsp oil
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup water
