fingerling/baby potatoes : 12

frozen peas : 1 cup

onion : 1

tomato puree : 3 tablespoons

ginger garlic paste : 1 teaspoon

chilli powder : 1 teaspoon

corriander powder : 1 teaspoon

garam masala : 1/2 teaspoon

turmeric powder : a pinch

salt : as needed


  • Cook potatoes in a pressure cooker with enough water for 1 whistle. tare care NOT to mash the potatoes.
  • Once cooled, peel and cut them into bite size chunks and keep it aside. In a kadai heat some oil and sautee the onions till they turn light brown. cool and grind it into a smooth paste.
  • In the same kadai heat some more oil, add fennel seeds and GG paste and fry till the raw smell is gone. Now add the onion paste and tomato puree along with all powders and salt.
  • Stir everything together, add enough water and let everything boil for some time.
  • Now add the peas and cooked potato and mix everything well and again cook till the potatoes absorbs all the flavors.
  • Garnish with chopped corriander leaves and serve with chapathi.
