Preparation

  • Steam cook sprouts for 3 to 4 mins in pressure cooker.
  • Chop tomatoes to fine pieces. Keep ready thick tamarind juice.
  • Dry grind roasted poppy and fried spices along with coconut pieces.
  • Add little water and make thick paste. Heat oil in pan, fry garlic and chopped onion to golden.
  • Add chopped tomato and sauté till it is cooked.
  • Mix ground paste, jaggery, salt and allow to cook for 5 to 6 mins.
  • Enjoy the rich aroma swirling around. Now add thick tamarind paste and steam cooked sprouts.
  • Allow to boil, once it attains desired consistency. Garnish with coraiander leaves.
  • Serve hot with pulav and roti.
