Ingredients

• Basmati Rice - 2 cup, washed and soaked for 1 hour
• Peas - 1 cup
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
• Cinnamon - 1 one inch stick
• Cardamoms - 4-5 nos
• Cloves - 4 nos
• Bay leaves - 2-3 nos
• Pure ghee
• Salt as per taste

Preparation

• Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan.
• Add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamoms, cloves and cumin seeds.
• Fry for 1 minute.
• Drain water and add rice along with peas.
• Stir till rice grains and peas are nicely coated with ghee.
• Add 4 cups of water and salt. Bring it to a boil.
• Cover and cook till done.
