- Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan.
- Add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamoms, cloves and cumin seeds.
- Fry for 1 minute.
- Drain water and add rice along with peas.
- Stir till rice grains and peas are nicely coated with ghee.
- Add 4 cups of water and salt. Bring it to a boil.
- Cover and cook till done.
