Mix the brown sugar, paprika, salt, barbecue sauce, and water.
Rub the pork shoulder well with the sauce.
Place it in a baking dish and pour the sauce over it. Add 2 bay leaves on top of the meat.
Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 6 to 7 hours. Baste the meat regularly to keep it moist. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should reach 190°F (90°C).
After cooking, the meat will shred easily with a fork.
You can use the sauce from the bottom of the dish to accompany it.
And there you have it, your pulled pork is ready!
Observations
The cut: if you can't find pork shoulder, you can substitute it with pork neck.
Cooking: you can also make this recipe in a slow cooker on low heat for 6 hours.
