- Preheat the oven to 190 C. Lightly grease the baking pan.
- Warm water and sugar in saucepan. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar mixture and beat well.
- Add yolks one at a time, and beat until thick. Stir in sifted cornflour, flour and baking powder. Lastly add vanilla extract.
- Pour into prepared tins and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Fill with whipped cream and jam. Dust with icing sugar.
