Ingredients

Number of serving: 2
Garlic pods- 30 ea

Mustard seed-2 teaspoons

Tamarind - small lemon size

Salt- to taste

Sesame oil- 1/2 cup

Asafoetida- 1 teaspoon


To Roast:

whole blackPeppercorns-2 tablespoons

Cumin seeds -1 teaspoon

Coriander seeds-3 tablespoons

Splitted channa dhal-2 teaspoons

Urad dhal-3 teaspoons

Red chillies-5-7

Methi seeds-2 teaspoons

Curry leaves-5-6 sprigs

Preparation

  • Heat oil in a pan, add all roast items one by one & roast upto golden brown.
  • Blend in all roasted spices along with tamarind and hing(asafoetida) to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seed, garlic sauté few minutes.
  • Add ground paste and allow to cook and keep simmering until all oil comes out.
