Observations
Why use an airfryer to cook breaded cheese?
The airfryer enables breaded cheese to be cooked with very little oil, while retaining its crispy texture. Hot air circulates rapidly around the food, browning the breading without soaking it. It's a lighter alternative to traditional frying, ideal for obtaining a cheese that's runny at the core, golden brown on the outside, and easy to digest.
How do I season baby potatoes in the airfryer?
Baby potatoes are perfect for airfrying, as they become crispy on the outside and meltingly soft on the inside. Before cooking, they are coated with olive oil, garlic semolina, dried rosemary, salt and pepper. These aromatic herbs impregnate the flesh, imparting a delicious Mediterranean flavor. In 20 to 25 minutes, you have a fragrant side dish that goes wonderfully well with breaded cheese.
What oil should I use to cook potatoes in the airfryer?
Although the airfryer cooks with very little fat, a spoonful of olive oil is enough to coat the potatoes and ensure even cooking. Olive oil is ideal because it stands up well to heat and adds a fruity taste. For a more neutral flavor, you can use sunflower or rapeseed oil, but olive oil remains the tastiest.
Can breaded Caprice des dieux be prepared in advance?
Yes, you can prepare the breaded cheese portions in advance. Once they've been tossed in flour, egg and breadcrumbs, they can be stored in the fridge for a few hours before cooking. For even greater convenience, they can also be frozen. In this case, simply put them directly into the airfryer without defrosting, adding a few minutes to the cooking time.
How long can I keep cooked breaded cheese?
Once cooked, Caprice des dieux breaded cheese should be eaten quickly to enjoy the creamy texture. If necessary, it can be refrigerated in an airtight tin for 24 hours, but the breading will lose its crispness. To restore a pleasant texture, simply reheat in the airfryer a few minutes before serving.
Can I replace Caprice des dieux cheese?
Of course! You can use camembert or brie to replace this cheese if you can't find it :-)
