Delicious comfort food, served with grilled baguette slices.


Number of serving: 3
2 large yellow onions - sliced thinly

1 star anize

1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

2 medium size bay leaves

1/2 liter vegetable stock

1 tbsp butter

salt and pepper for taste

coriander leaves -shredded


  • Heat butter and when heated, sweat onions to soften its texture.
    Add spices and continue to fry for another 1-2 mins.
    Pour in stock and simmer.
    Let the liquid reduce to about 1/3.
    Remove from heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with grilled baguette slices.



Simple to make, retains nutrients intact, excellent in taste.
