- Clean and cut the chicken into medium pieces. Heat oil in a pan or pressure cooker and add curry leaves, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cloves and star anise.Toss it for a minute.
- Add chopped onions and saute till they are soft and starting to turn brown. Add crushed ginger, garlic and green chiles and saute for 3-4 minutes.
- Add Garam masala and crushed peppercorns and stir in the chicken pieces and mix it well. Add 1/2 cup water and and pressure cook for 3 whistles or cook normally in a cooking pan for 20-25 minutes or until it is done.
- If you are using coconut milk , pour 1 cup coconut milk and simmer for another 10 minutes . or if you are not using coconut milk and if you want more gravy add 1 cup water and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
