Soya Chunks - 15 to 20

Onion - 2

Tomato - 3

Curry Leaves - a handful

Coriander Leaves - a handful

Saunf - 1 teaspoon

cinnamon - 1



Coconut grated- 2 tableaspoon

Saunf/sombhu - 1 teaspoon

Ginger - 1 piece

Garlic - 6 pods

Chilli Powder - 2 teaspoon

Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon

Cashewnuts - 6


  • Wash the soya chunks thoroughly. Soak them in hot water for 10mins and wash them once again.
  • Grind the ingredients given in "To Grind".
  • Put the soya chunks in the mixer and grind it coarsely.
  • Heat oil in a pan.Add saunf,cinnamon and curry leaves. Wait till they splutter.
  • Add onion and fry till transparent.
  • Add soya chunks kaima and fry till it slightly changes color.
  • Add ground mixture along with tomatoes and fry till raw smell goes away.
  • Pour required water for gravy and check the salt.
  • Garnish with fried cashewnuts and coriander.
  • Tastes good with Idiyappam, chappati, rice, dosa.
