Palak (spinach) pakoda

Palak pakoda is one of those goodies. This is a very easy snack that tastes so great.

Ingredients

Number of serving: 4
2 cups Spinach, chopped into fine pieces

2 cups Chickpea Flour (Senagapindi, Besan)

1 small Onion, chopped fine or lengthwise (Optional)

Some Green Chilies

A pinch of Soda

Few Cilantro leaves (Optional)


Oil to deep fry

Preparation

  • Mix together all the ingredients except oil to make a thick paste. Don't add too much water. Keep aside.
  • Pour oil in a pan and when it is hot take small portions of the batter and drop carefully into the hot oil.
  • Deep fry until they turn into golden brown in color. Then transfer them into a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Repeat the same process with rest of the batter. Transfer all the deep fried pakodas into a serving plate and enjoy with desired sauce or dip.
