Grated Coconut /Thenga Chirakiyathu : 1/2 cup

Onion /Savola  : 1 medium, (finely, chopped)

Garlic /Veluthulli : 3 cloves (crushed)

Green chilli /Pachamulaku : 2 (slit)

Turmeric powder /Manjalpodi : 1/4 teaspoons

Mustard seeds /Kadugu : 1/2 teaspoon

Curry leaves /Karivepilla : few

Oil : 2 teaspoons

Salt to taste


  • Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets .
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard, add curry leaves, crushed garlic, chopped onion, green chillies and saute till the onion turns to transulcent.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt to taste and pour 1/4 cup of water.
  • Cover and cook it on low heat, stir in between,now add grated coconut and combine well.
  • Serve hot with rice or chappathi.
