Sweet potato gnocchi (easy gnocchi)
vote now
Gnocchi have gained a new flavor thanks to sweet potatoes. It only took replacing regular potatoes to innovate this recipe. Very easy to prepare, it is also versatile, as we can use wheat flour (as is done with traditional gnocchi) or gluten-free flour (for those with allergies). Both will yield excellent results. And on top of that, we don't use eggs. Interested? Then check out our step-by-step guide now:

Peel and cook the sweet potatoes for about 10 minutes or until they soften. Then, drain the water and mash them until they become a puree.
Let cool. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Add the flour and knead the dough (it should be firm but not hard; if needed, add a little more flour).
On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut it into rectangles (try to make them all the same size).
To finish, press down with a fork.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil (no oil needed). Add the gnocchi. They will be ready when they float to the surface (about 1 minute and a half). Remove them with a slotted spoon.
Top with pesto sauce or another sauce of your choice. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Enjoy your meal!
Observations
Types of potatoes: We used sweet potato, but you can use regular potatoes.
Freeze the gnocchi: If you prefer, freeze the gnocchi (before cooking them). When you want to eat them, there is no need to thaw them. Just place them in hot water. Their cooking time will be longer (about 3 minutes).
