Everyone knows regular pancakes. There are also American pancakes (a bit larger). But Japanese pancakes take the prize for the largest and fluffiest pancakes :D One pancake can serve up to two people! Ready?

  • Japanese fluffy pancakes - Preparation step 1In a bowl, mix the warm milk, egg yolks, and melted butter.
  • Japanese fluffy pancakes - Preparation step 2Combine the flour and baking powder, then add them to the previous mixture.
  • Japanese fluffy pancakes - Preparation step 3Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form and gently fold them into the batter.
  • Japanese fluffy pancakes - Preparation step 4Fill the pan almost to the top and cover. Cook for 20 minutes on low heat. Insert a toothpick; if it comes out clean, it's done.
  • Japanese fluffy pancakes - Preparation step 5Serve with a bit of butter and maple syrup (or agave syrup, honey, jam, chocolate...)

* You can serve it with fruits, chocolate, honey, caramel... Or with savory ingredients like ham, cheese, crispy bacon, egg...

* As we always say, you can customize the flavor to your liking by adding lemon zest, orange zest, orange blossom water, coffee...
