We know about French toast, but we also enjoy lost brioche! A simple and effective recipe for breakfast, snack time, or a well-stocked brunch on a Sunday morning. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, and milk.
Dip the brioche slices into the mixture and let them soak.
Melt some butter in a pan. Place the soaked brioche in the pan and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes.
And there you have it, your lost brioche is ready! Sprinkle icing sugar on top or drizzle with spread, caramel, jam, or honey...
Observations
You can replace the milk with a plant-based drink, the sugar with brown sugar, and the vanilla sugar with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
You can substitute brioche with bread, croissants, or other pastries.
If your brioche is hard, soak it longer in the mixture. However, if it is fresh, do not soak it too long.
