  • In a vessel pour 100 g ghee / oil and fry 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cashew nuts
  • In a vessel pour 100 g ghee / oil and fry 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cashew nuts and bay leaves. Drain and keep aside.
  • Add cut onions to the oil / ghee, add ginger - garlic paste and turmeric powder. Fry for 6 - 8 minutes on a low heat.
  • Crush coriander seeds and remaining cinnamon, clove and cardamom coarsely together.
  • In a large vessel , heat 12 - 14 cups of water. Add ground masala and cook for a few seconds.
  • Add the rice, onions, mutton, ginger - garlic paste, bay leaves and salt. Cook till three - fourth done.
  • Add coconut milk - poppy seeds mixture, remaining ghee and cook till done. Sprinkle fried cinnamon, clove, cardamom and cashew nuts as garnish just before serving.Serve hot with raita.
