Take each strip between your fingers and twist them to form twists.
  • Place your twists on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush them with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake for 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C). And there you have it!

Observations

What makes red pesto different from traditional green pesto?

Red pesto is made with sun-dried tomatoes, which gives it a unique flavor profile compared to the traditional green pesto that uses fresh basil.

Can I use other types of cheese instead of mozzarella in this recipe?

Yes, you can experiment with other cheeses like feta or goat cheese for a different taste, but mozzarella provides a nice meltiness.

How can I make these puff pastry twists more flavorful?

You can add spices like garlic powder or chili flakes, or even mix in some grated Parmesan cheese for an extra kick.

What are some good dipping sauces for these puff pastry twists?

They pair well with marinara sauce, garlic aioli, or even a balsamic reduction for a gourmet touch.

Can I prepare these twists in advance and bake them later?

Absolutely! You can assemble the twists, refrigerate them, and bake them just before serving for a fresh and warm appetizer.
