Number of serving: 8
8 Tbsp. butter

1 lg. onion, chopped

1/4 c. flour

3 c. sour cream

2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

6 tsp. sugar

3 lb. frozen green beans

1 lb. cheddar cheese, grated

1 sleeve buttery round crackers, crushed


  • Melt 4 Tbsp. butter in pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook 5 minutes.
  • Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes. Stir in the sour cream, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  • Add the green beans and toss to coat. Pour into a 9X13 in. baking dish.
  • Top with shredded cheese.
  • In a bowl melt remaining 4 Tbsp. butter. Toss in crackers to coat.
  • Sprinkle over the cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
