Chicken gyros, the greek sandwich you'll love!
Let's travel to Greece today! Discover Chicken Gyros, the Greek sandwich that's sure to amaze you! This Mediterranean delight is made with marinated chicken, grilled to perfection, and served in a soft pita bread. Add to this a super-creamy hummus, red onion and crunchy cucumber, with a touch of feta cheese for extra indulgence. Preparation
- Prepare the marinade:
Place the olive oil, Greek yogurt, cider vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and oregano in an airtight box or freezer bag. - Add the chicken pieces (whole aiguillettes in this case) and mix well. Close the container and chill for 1 hour.
- Cook chicken pieces in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown.
- Warm the pita breads before use: you can place them in the microwave or oven.
- Spread hummus in the center of the pita, then add the cooked chicken pieces.
- Top with slices of cucumber and red onion (you can replace them with onion pickles).
*Add pomegranate arils for a sweet and salty taste.
- Add crumbled feta and chopped fresh mint on top.
- Close the sandwich. We wrapped it in parchment paper to make it easy to eat! Enjoy your meal!
